Terms of Use

1. What this is

OYFS ("the project," "the site," "we") is a free community platform built and maintained by a developer with the help of its members. There is no company behind it. By creating an account or using the site, you accept these terms and our Privacy Notice. If you don't, please don't use the site.

2. Who can join

You need to be at least 16 to use OYFS, and the information you put in your profile should be honest. One person, one account. Don't share your login with anyone else.

3. Your account

You're responsible for what happens on your account. Pick a real password, keep it private, and email us if you think someone else has gotten in.

4. Be decent

This is a recovery network. People here are often having a hard time. While you're using it, don't:

• // Harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate anyone
• // Post spam, scams, MLM pitches, or recruitment fraud
• // Scrape or republish other members' content without their permission
• // Use bots or automation to interact with the site
• // Misrepresent who you are or what you've done in ways that mislead other members
• // Try to break the site, exploit it, or upload malware
• // Do anything illegal where you live

Severe or repeat violations will get your account removed.

5. Your content

You own what you post — your profile, your Pulses, your messages. By posting it here you give us permission to display it on the site so other members can see it. That's the whole license. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, the law, or that we judge harmful to other members. We'll try to explain why when we do.

6. Mentorship and support

OYFS connects people. It is not a recruiter, an employer, or a licensed advisor. When members mentor or support each other, that's between them — we don't broker the relationship and we can't guarantee outcomes, advice quality, or hires.

7. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. We may also remove an account if it's breaking these terms or harming other members. If the site shuts down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.

8. As-is

OYFS is built and run by volunteers in their spare time. The site is provided as-is — we don't promise it will always be up, bug-free, or that any specific outcome (a job, a connection, a hire) will come from using it.

This site is not professional career, legal, financial, or mental health advice. If you're in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

9. Limits on liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost income, lost opportunities, or lost data — that come from your use of the site.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited under the consumer-protection law where you live. If your local consumer-protection rules give you stronger rights than these terms, those rules apply.

10. Changes to these terms

If something important changes — anything that materially affects your rights or what we do with your data — we'll email signed-in members and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
